Meet Our Veterinarians

Dr. Linda Speizer
Dr. Linda Speizer and Cannelle: Dr. Speizer was raised in Boston, MA. After receiving her BSc. in Agriculture from McGill University, she worked as a veterinary technician, and then attended veterinary school at Tufts University in Boston. She spends her free time with her husband, Richard and daughter, Sarah. She enjoys reading, music and training for triathlon. Cannelle is one of four pets in Dr. Speizer's family. She, like her three cat siblings (Hercules, Cheeto and Ashley), was adopted from SPCA shelters. Between meals of T/D and Hercules' cat hair, Cannelle guards the back yard from squirrels. She is Dr. Speizer's enthusiastic running, biking and cross country skiing partner.

Dr. Erin Grant
Dr. Erin Grant and Hope: Erin grew up in Fredericton and completed her B. Sc. at UNB in 1992. Erin then went to the Atlantic Veterinary College in PEI and completed her DVM in 1997. Her interests have always been in all animals but she prefers to work with companion animals, birds and pocket pets. Hope, a Labrador mix that was rescued into Erin's family, passed away in 2010 at the age of 14. Erin and her family now have two cats, Bones and Keezr, who work hard to keep the family entertained.

Dr. Mike Legge
Dr. Mike Legge and Lewis: Dr. Legge was born in Moncton, but grew up in Fredericton. He attended U.N.B. for his Bachelor's degree in biology, and then completed his veterinary training at A.V.C., graduating in 2010. In his spare time, Dr. Legge enjoys swimming, golfing and skiing. Lewis is one of Dr. Legge's three cats (the others are Twyla, a black female short-hair with a bobtail, and a fluffy long-haired rescue, Bronx). All three cats were rescues from other veterinary hospitals, and most recently the Oromocto SPCA. Dr. Legge also has a ball python (Xerxes) at home. One of the cats' favourite activities is to sit and watch the snake moving around in his tank.

Dr. Jane MacLellan
Dr. Jane MacLellan and Bramble and Finch: Dr. MacLellan was born in Antigonish County, NS. She graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College in 2009 and joined Oromocto Veterinary Hospital in 2010. In her free time she enjoys hiking, gardening, playing tennis and watching movies. Bramble and Finch were both adopted from the PEI Humane Society, a year apart. They quickly became best friends and have been inseparable since. Bramble is very laid back and relaxed, preferring to snooze on your lap rather then run around and play. Finch, on the other hand, is always chasing something - a toy, a ray of light, or his own tail - and constantly finds himself in some sort of trouble.
